Oh, Have We Got a Pack Meeting for You!

The Fri., May 18 pack meeting at Hawthorn Glen is shaping up to be one of the best of the year. Featuring a picnic/potluck, an activity with stomp rockets, a game of capture the flag, and scout recognition, including crossing over ceremonies, scouts and their families are in for a treat. In fact, if your last name starts with a letter from S-Z, you should seriously bring a treat.

What to Bring
We need three volunteers to help with grilling. We need your prowess around the grill, we need your grill, and we need you to bring your tools of the trade. If you can swing it, drop Lena Stephenson a line.

Needless to say, we’ll be grilling. The pack will provide the meat, buns, fixings and beverages. Here’s what you should bring to the party:

  • Last names A-I: bring an appetizer
  • Last names J-R: bring a side dish
  • Last names S-Z: bring a dessert

If you have plastic 2-liter pop bottles (yeah, we said “pop”, not soda), give ‘em a rinse and bring them along for the gathering activity. We’ll also need:

  • Bear parents to help with the gathering activity.
  • Wolf parents to help with the capture the flag game.
  • Tiger parents to help with set-up.

New Scouts & Families
We’ll be recruiting new scouts leading up to the May pack event and inviting them to join us for the festivities. If you know a potential scout and family, please extend an invite as well. We’ll recognize the new recruits at the pack meeting.

Special Thanks
A special thanks goes out to all the scouts (listed below) and their families that helped with the habitat restoration at Hawthorn Glen on April 21. Their combat of garlic mustard helped provide Pack 231 with a meeting space at Hawthorn Glen free-of-charge for our May pack meeting.

  • Vin Stephenson
  • Haylan Blanchard
  • Malachy Kennedy
  • Cooper Malinowski
  • John Cayen
  • Joe Lichucki
  • Alek Sealey
  • Emmett Loew
  • Nicholas Park
  • William Watry
  • Edward Poggenburg
  • Steven Rios
  • Riley Johnson
  • Nigel Anderson
  • Michael Whitney
  • Patrick Whitney
  • Owen Mantz
